Message interesting points, but I think you completely missed mine.

The genre per se of the Z32 is totally different from the 350Z. Nissan has said this, everything is pointing that way.

I'm sure that you've read the articles pertaining to first drives of the 350z, no?

The car is supposed to put out nearly the power of the Z32TT 260-280hp and is *supposedly* lighter (probably will be, but doesn't seem like much) and still pulls in 6s 0-60s times and 14s 1/4 miles (I believe November Road and Track). TT's are 5s 0-60 and mid to high 13s 1/4mi times. Not to mention, that common sense and ownership of an actual TT would provide the knowledge that TTs shine after the 1/4 mile. I'm sorry, but the 350Z won't be a TT, it may accelerate somewhat closely, but with a <$30k price range, get real! And living by a stat sheet is no way to live.

~$30k was what a brand new 300ZX NON TURBO was priced back in 1989. TTs were closer to ~$33-35 and each year the price increased. Compare the value of the cars, by adjusting the price of the Z32 13 years to today and then see what class each car is in. A new TT would be closer to $55-60k today if sold new in the US. The Z32 will always be a lot more rare than a 350Z, it had super car performance that equalled exotics. Many times the car was complimented as a realitively affordable exotic, given the package, performance and grouping it had, something to rival the finest offerings of Porsches and Ferraris of the time. The 350Z is for the masses, the Z32 isn't. The 350Z is something you are now going to compare to a Rustang or Camaro. Machines that are accelerating like TTZs 12 years ago. You wanna argue that?

Actually, I don't feel like arguing right now. All I can advise you to do is go get yourself a TT (Its a lot different than driving the open topped(flimsey), heaviest with the least amount of power kind of Z32), drive a few other high end sports cars (not on the damn hwy, and more than a few times without the owner sitting next to you) and you'll understand. It's easy to talk without being *fully* informed.

And lastly don't put words in my mouth. You can make a better car. The Z32 isn't the best now, it could very well have been in the past, but given money and so many years you can do a lot of things. It would be sad if there was no progress made by high end sports cars in the last 12 years. But the Z32 still remains one of the best damn overall packages compared to anything, anywhere and anytime today.
